GIS is the key area of the information society that will generate most new value-added applications and thus create most jobs in the next ten years

Today, demand for geographical information is local (towns and regions), accounting for over 70% of the total GIS market; tomorrow, demand will be national, European and global (Al Gore…Bill Gates...)

In the current climate driven by increasing globalisation, georeferenced information is the most expressive and most universal tool for visualising current status and events.

To successfully develop areas within the Community, we must develop a demonstrator of agreed best practices, in partnership with 4 or 5 RISI regions from different countries of the European Union.

To attract businesses we must: 2. Develop new training courses at Auch: e.g., a professional degree in GIS or a technical diploma
