The CCIof Gers and the European Geomatics Centre (EGC) of Gers, in conjunction with severalother institutions, offer a range of educational programs. This includes the possibility to obtain:

  • a professional degree in Geomatics - Territory Development (UPS -IUT)
  • part time preparatory training, eventually leading to a professional degree
  • an Engineering diploma in Agricultural Engineering at the CCI Gers
  • a Masters in Agriculture Geomatics with Laval University (Quebec, Canada)
  • and further education in the use of remote sensing with CIRAD

Continuing Education

The courses listed below are offered by the CCI of Gers, using the facilities of the EGC of Gers.

  • Module 4: GIS Online
  • Module 5: Geocoding Alphanumeric Data
  • Module 6: Creating a Departmental Economic Observatory
  • Module 7: Managing and Promoting Business Parks with the help of GIS

 

Preparing a Dissertation

When the project Teleparc began, all major actors knew that for its success the promotion of education (in the field of Geomatics in France and, more specifically, in the department of Gers) was absolutely necessary. Several initial education programs and continued education programs (as listed above) were formed. But it was further education that was never attacked until recently. Together with the EGC of Gers, the CCI of Gers has begun to offer grants (up to 30% of costs) for doctorate students searching funding for their dissertations.

 

To date, there has been one grant given. The status report of the thesis, "The impactof traceability on the agri-food industry: Implications for firms and supplychain organizational dynamics" can be read by clicking on its title.
